These classroom timers are battery operated, so there is no annoying ticking sound as they count down. All you have to do is set the timer to the time period, and the red indicator will clearly show time passing.
You can also set the loudness level of the alarm to make it easier for your class.

It is a great resource however it is very small and therefore not very visual! It would have been better if they had made it bigger.
