Purchasing via Lay-By

An Autism Resources South Africa Lay-By is where goods chosen by you are reserved in your name, while you pay for the goods over a period of time. We will hold onto the goods for you, until you have paid for them in full, and then we will deliver them or you may collect the goods in-store to take home.

Lay-By's are split into a 20% deposit and three monthly payments of the remaining amount.

 

Online: 
  1. Add the products you wish to purchase to your online shopping cart and proceed to check out as normal, but select Lay-by as your payment method.
  2. When we receive your order, we will send you an e-mail with a full breakdown of the 20% deposit as well as the three equal monthly instalments.
  3. As soon as the 20% deposit is paid via EFT (or in store), we will reserve the products for you and send you an updated invoice.
  4. Make an EFT payment (or make a payment in store) of the instalments each month for three months.
  5. Once the Lay-by is fully paid, your order will be ready to be shipped or collected.
  6. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that the order will be shipped or is ready for collection.

 In Store: 

  1. When purchasing products in store, ask our staff to select Lay-by as your payment method.
  2. They will ask you to pay the 20% deposit on your purchase and set the products you purchased on Lay-by aside.
  3. We will send you an e-mail with a full breakdown of the 20% deposit as well as the three equal monthly instalments.
  4. Make an EFT payment (or make a payment in store) of the instalments each month for three months.
  5. Once the Lay-by is fully paid, your order will be ready to be collected.
  6. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that the order is ready for collection.

 

 

  • Who can apply for a lay-by? Anyone can apply for a lay-by, but if you choose the goods to be delivered, it can only be delivered within South Africa.

  • How long is the lay-by period? It is up to 3 months.

  • How much do I pay each month for my lay-by? After you pay the 20% deposit the remaining balance will be split into 3 equal payments which will be payable over the next 3 months.

  • For example: If your lay-by is R120, you’ll pay a 20% deposit of R24. This leaves R96 which will be split into 3 equal payments of R32 each. For 3 months you will pay R32 a month. At the end of 3 months you would have paid the Deposit of R24 + Month 1 (R32) + Month 2 (R32) + Month 3 (R32) = R120.
  • Can I miss a payment? Yes, we allow for a one month grace period, which will extend your lay-by to 4 months.

  • What happens if I fail to make my payments? One month after a missed payment the store will cancel your lay-by. You’ll get an e-mail letting you know it’s cancelled, and that you will be refunded minus a 10% cancelation fee.

  • Can I pay the lay-by off before 3 months? Yes, as soon as the balance is paid in full, you will be able to receive the items you selected.

  • What can be purchased on lay-by? Any products that are available in our store.

  • Are shipping fees included in the lay-by? Yes, any shipping fees are included in the total value of the lay-by.

  • If I cancel the lay-by do I forfeit any of the payment made? No, you will get a full refund on what you have paid up to the date of cancellation minus a 10% cancellation fee.

  • What are the different ways I can pay my lay-by instalments? You can pay with cash, debit and credit card in store or with EFT online.

  • Can I pay for my lay-by at any time in the month? Yes, all you need to do is make an EFT payment into our bank account with your order number as reference or go in-store with your lay-by order number to make a payment.

  • What happens if the items I choose go on sale or increase in price, will my lay-by change? No, the lay-by remains on the price at the time of the order.

  • Can I send a family member to pay my instalments or pick up my lay-by? Yes, all they will need is a copy of the original lay-by order, containing the lay-by number.

  • What happens if I want to remove or add any items in my lay-by? Unfortunately, you’ll need to cancel the agreement and get refunded what you’ve paid (minus the 10% cancelation fee). Then you can sign up for a new lay-by agreement.
